Central Marin Police Authority Meeting Room
Delta Waters: Hour of Decision?
Thursday, November 8, 2018, 4:30 PM
Central Marin Police Headquarters Community Room
250 Doherty Drive, Larkspur
The headline-grabbing fight about Delta tunnels masks a more fundamental issue: the way that California has overpromised and overdeveloped the waters that flow from the mountains through the ecologically collapsing Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta to the Golden Gate. Are we finally on the verge of a real change of course?
John Hart has been writing about California water issues since the 1970s. His 17 books include Storm Over Mono, about the successful effort to save Mono Lake by conserving water in Los Angeles, and San Francisco Bay: Portrait of an Estuary. Most recently he has penned an introduction to the new edition of The Bay Institute’s comprehensive study of the Golden Gate watershed, From the Sierra to the Sea.
