Walk into Conservation History: Marincello

Celebrate National Public Lands Day and take a guided walk through time to learn how the iconic Marin Headlands were saved for all.

Imagine...a sea of houses and apartment towers and acres of commercial and light industry lining the Marin Headlands. It nearly happened when the planned development "Marincello" was proposed. Guides will lead us into Gerbode Valley and tell the story of how impassioned community members stopped the development and helped preserve this land of wildflowers and bobcats.

Meet at the Rodeo Lagoon east parking lot by 9:30am. Wear good hiking shoes, dress in layers, and carry water & snack.

This event is free but registration requested.
